sex toy fairy Sex in the 21st C: My iPod, My Friend

I was listening to my iPod the other day, and I realized how important music is to our sexuality. We always think of music as being romantic, as ambiance. But music can also be a pretty strong aphrodisiac.

“How?” (you ask). I thought you’d never ask.

One way is through association. We hear a song and it reminds us of someone, sometime, someplace. It’s Pavlov’s theory of conditioned reflexes. Yes, we’re just like our 4-legged friends. We hear the bell (or music!) and it sets off a reaction. We’re “trained” to have a certain reflex.

Every time I hear Melissa Ethridge’s “Yes I Am,” I think about the guy I dated when this album became popular. I played it constantly when we were together.

Then there is some music that is just plain sexual.

Whether it’s the singer, the rhythm or the lyrics, there’s something about it that turns us on!

Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” or “Let’s Get It On,” Donna Summer’s, “Love To Love You Baby,” Barry White’s, “Never, Never Gonna Give You Up,” Prince’s “Kiss,” Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better,” PussyCat Dolls, “Doncha Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me?”

Great, sexy, seductive songs! (I’m sure there are more from this century, but I am, after all, over 40 and set in my ways!)

Speaking of sex and music…

If you love your iPod… there is a vibrator on the market that is music-powered. Check it out… http://www.ohmibod.com

“Listening to your favorite sexy music and actually feeling the corresponding vibes quickly transports you to a place where music, mind and body truly "come" together. The range and intensity of the vibrations are endless, creating a dynamically sensational experience never felt before!” - OhMiBod

It’s great if you’re going solo, but if you’re with a friend, maybe you’re better off with the old-fashioned stereo and a ‘Sea of Love’ kit. How’d the song go? “Come with me…”
